Accommodation

The selection of 11,597 rooms in and around Glasgow includes bed & breakfasts, guest houses and international hotel chains. University rooms are also available outside term time. The most expensive hotels tend to be located in the city centre and West End. The Scottish Tourist Board operates a grading system of one to five stars, based on annual assessments of each property, so a bed & breakfast can earn as many stars as a top hotel. Hotel rates usually include VAT and services, and often breakfast too. Recent years have seen the introduction of a number of unique and stylish hotels in renovated townhouses.

For hotel booking information, contact the Tourist Information Centre (tel: (0141) 204 4400 or 221 0049 (advanced reservations)).
